The Dark Mirror
Posted : 14 years, 7 months ago on 6 October 2009 06:21 (A review of The Dark Mirror: Book One of the Bridei Chronicles (Bridei Chronicles 1))I enjoyed the first part of this book, I got right into it...then it started to drag...so I skimmed through until it got interesting again when Tuala had to leave home and I enjoyed the last of it. I liked the Sevenwater's Trilogy better, but this is a good book. I'm going to see if the library has the second book as I do enjoy Juliet Marillier's writing.

reserved for the cat
Posted : 14 years, 7 months ago on 22 September 2009 03:22 (A review of Reserved for the Cat (Elemental Masters, Book 5))I enjoyed the magic, the talking cat and bird and the whole story line. There was a lot of repeated information that sent me skimming and flipping past pages...and some stuff that I didn't feel needed to be read word for word...that seemed to go on and on when I wanted to get on with the story.
I'm going to try some more of Mercedes Lackey books.

sepulchre
Posted : 14 years, 9 months ago on 22 July 2009 07:57 (A review of Sepulchre)There was too much French in this book that wasn't explained. I don't read or speak french so I found that annoying.
I didn't like all the deaths in it or that Leonie wasn't to be there to help raise her brother's son.
I did get easily involved with the two main characters, one from the past and one from the present.
It had good spots. I skimmed over a lot of the description of the area, just went on to much.
It's frustrating when the family is keeping secrets, plus that they kept ignoring the bad guy, always saying that he much be gone, he couldn't find them. Keeping secrets and ignoring the bad guy just ended up getting themselves killed.
I like the history of the tarot cards and the clues and pictures that Meredith had and found.
